The Freedom flashback is an album which comprises the songs Vidyadhar Bhave (Vidya) composed/sang when he was the vocalist of the rock band ‘FREEDOM’ between 2000-2003. It is looking back into the past where Vidya actually discovered himself as a musician. The album is a tribute to the struggling days of the band that disbanded within a span of 3 years of being together.
The band had tasted instant success by getting runners up position in Mood Indigo 2000 just after one month of being together
The band Freedom had a great stint of playing over 30 Gigs including headlining Chaos 2002 at IIM Ahmedabad & Great Indian Rock 2002 which brought the band right in the forefront. The band had also started being noticed for playing their original songs and covers with a touch of their own. However in 2003 the band split.
Vidya the lead composer and vocalist of the band didn’t want the songs to be just forgotten. In order to immortalize the songs Vidya produced the album without changing lyrics or compositions as they had a certain element of rawness & innocence that every musician starts with when he makes his first songs
The Freedom Flashback comprises of 6 tracks made during the bands operational days which were never released. The songs comprise of Contemporary English lyrics and music.
