The duo, Madhura Gowda and Gubbi first met in September 2017. They started off with an intention of collaborating on a song. The work chemistry was so that they ended up churning out a bunch of songs. They even started performing together at Live shows. From then, there was no looking back! The act came up with the name "MG and Gubbi" after the creation of their song, "ಹೊಂಗಿರಣ" (Hongirana). Their music mainly focuses on positivity and fun. Their first unofficial song, "Spot The Pot" went viral and even got featured on CNN-IBN, BBC radio, Scribe and a whole bunch of News channels and News Papers.

Karthik Gubbi better known by his stage name Gubbi is a multilingual rapper predominantly rapping in Kannada and English. He also raps in German and Hindi. He was previously known as "Karnage" and was one half of the rap act "Neo Fatal" which started off in 2006. Gubbi dropped his first kannada rap, "ಮುಂಗಾರು" (Mungaru which means Monsoon) in 2009.
