Awarded the Most Inventive, Innovative and Creative Indie Act in Asia” at AVIMA 2010, Sanjeev T is the Lead Guitarist for Oscar / Grammy winning magician from India - A R Rahman since 2006.
Endorsed by Gibson Guitars and Laney Amps, Sanjeev T was featured in Coke Studio and MTV Unplugged in their inaugural seasons. He has performed at performed at over 25 destinations worldwide covering some of the biggest venues in the world including the O2 Madisson Square Garden.
Born in Kuwait, Sanjeev T’s musical roots got nurtured as a young boy whose dad encouraged him to learn and play new songs. His first performance, an impromptu one as his mother recounts, was Sanjeev going up to an open mic in a church and singing ‘Tragedy’ by the Bee Gees, a famous track back then.
Influenced as a child by artists like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Sanjeev T write songs and performed live with bands like Buddha’s Babies & Buddha Blown (during Great Indian Rock 2003 and 2004 editions) during his early years as a professional musician.
In 2004, he began his own music studio called the Rainbow Bridge, making music for TV commercials, Theatre and Feature films. In the mid 2000s, A R Rahman called upon Sanjeev T first to play the guitars for the song ‘Vote for Taj Mahal’. Since then, SAnjeev has been partnering the Grammy winning Rahman in Bollywood and South Indian films like as well as on live tours. Sanjeev’s contributions can be heard on various movies including Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Delhi 6, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Sivaji, Raavan, Jhoota hi sahi, Blue and Rockstar.
Sanjeev T, on the personal front is the ‘life of any room’ and is highly favoured by his fellow musicians and his friends and is a strict follower of the ‘No- enemy‘ rule.
Currently, the co-founder and Director of Music at Springr Studios, Kochi, Sanjeev T has released his album “Epic Shit” in 2013 that features an eclectic mix of the talents of Baiju Dharmajan, Warren Mendonsa, Asad Khan, Santhosh Chandran, Sayonara, Roop Thomas, Maria tom, Pranoy Bixter, Ralphin Stephen and of course Sanjeev T. Most of the songs on the album have been recorded Live and the first video from the album Chekele crossed 20,000 views within 10 days of its release.
