Somashree Ghosh Dastidar, a Corporate Banker by profession, is immensely passionate about music.Somashree is a versatile vocalist, trained in Indian classical and semi classical music, with her rendition styles combining the nuances of both the Gwalior and Kirana Gharanas. She is also trained in Thumris, Dadras and Ghazals. Her lessons in Khayal, Bhajans, and Thumris depict the purity and mesmerism that is associated with the reputed gharanas. Besides her numerous Indian classical and semi classical performances, she has also enthralled audiences both in India and abroad with her renditions of sufi, Bengali Nazrul Geeti, Shyama Sangeet, Contemporary Bengali music, etc. Some of her noteworthy performances include recitals at India Habitat Centre (Delhi), Basanta Utsav and Barsha Mangal (Information and Cultural Affairs Department, West Bengal Government in Delhi), Delhi Doordarshan, All India Radio, Shobola Mela (Kolkata), concerts organized by Sangeetam (Delhi), Indian Classical Vibes Society (Malaysia), Indian High Commission (Malaysia) and many more!
