Srikanto Acharya stepped into the Bangla music domain in the mid-nineties and is now a household name for listeners of Bangla songs across the world.
Essentially a self-taught musician, with formal training in Rabindrasangeet, Srikanto’s repertoire comprises of Contemporary Bangla songs (self-composed as well as those composed by others), Film playbacks and Ghazals along with Rabindrasangeet.
Srikanto has several popular solo and compilation albums and has received numerous awards and accolades, including Gold and Platinum discs, BFJA, Albums of the Year, Artiste of the Year (Ananda Bazar Patrika, Mirchi Music Awards and so on), Sangeet Samman, Sangeet Mahasamman and Bangabhusan (Government of West Bengal). Also a performing voice actor and radio presenter, Srikanto has lent his voice as a story teller in the first ever Bangla Storytelling App, Tuntuni Stories, released from his label Srikanto Acharya Productions in collaboration with a Hyderabad based software company.
Srikanto performs regularly with his band across India and the continents.
